About Big Alice
A Big Alice doll stands approximately two feet tall from the tips of her over-sized toes to the top of her beautiful, rooted dreadlocks, so you will be amazed how quickly you can make one. But that’s not all! By following the exact same pattern, you can also make an adorable 1:12 scale Lil’ Alice too!
Her secret is in the hook size and number of strands of wool you use. Big Alice uses four strands of DK, while Lil’ Alice uses one, and there is enough pre-wound multi-strand balls in each kit for both dolls!
“Ooo, I love her hair!”
What makes Big Alice extra-special is her amazing hair. This fullness is achieved by incorporating strands into the stitches as-you-go.
Instructions on how & where to attach each strand is included with The Pattern, and you can also learn my rooting technique here.
“You have put so much thought into these.”
The pattern itself is based on a sewing pattern I designed for my daughter many years ago. The booklets are handcrafted by me, and can only be purchased from this website. Each is decorated with recycled papers from my own craft stash, and sealed in an envelope with a kiss ♥
